Low Expectations: Eivind Landsvik’s Debut Film Explores Self-Discovery
Paris- and Berlin-based sales company Salaud Morisset has secured worldwide distribution rights for “Low Expectations,” the inaugural feature film by Eivind Landsvik. This film features Marie Ulven, recognized as the singer and composer Girl in Red.
Synopsis of the Film
“Low Expectations” follows Maja, a 29-year-old artist whose once-flourishing career has reached a standstill. Facing personal and financial struggles, Maja returns to her hometown, where she takes a job at a high school. The narrative delves into her journey of self-discovery amidst the everyday challenges of life.
Production Details
The film is produced by Lotte Sandbu and Synnøve Hørsdal under Maipo Film, in partnership with Snowglobe. Filming is set to commence mid-May, with Nordisk Film Distribution overseeing its release in Scandinavia. Financing for the project comes from various entities, including the Norwegian Film Institute, the Danish Film Institute, Nordisk Film, TV Fond, and Eurimages.
A Continuing Partnership
This marks Salaud Morisset’s second collaboration with Eivind Landsvik. Previously, the company handled sales for his short film “Tits,” which premiered in Cannes short film competition in 2023, gained preselection for the Oscars, and was showcased at over 120 festivals globally.
