Details Leading Up to the Shooting
Local police had informed the Secret Service on Saturday about a potential crisis involving a “suicidal individual” believed to be traveling from Indiana to Washington, D.C.
During their investigation, agents located the man’s vehicle parked around 17th and F streets, close to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. This location is adjacent to the White House.
The Confrontation
At approximately midnight, Secret Service officers approached a man matching the suspect’s description on foot. Upon their approach, the man allegedly brandished a firearm, leading to an armed confrontation.
