Dan Spilo Ousted from Industry Entertainment Amid Allegations
Dismissal from ‘Runner’
Industry Entertainment co-founder Dan Spilo has been removed from his position following an HR investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior on the set of the film Runner. Sources indicate that the issues included accusations of bullying and yelling at crew members.
Company’s Commitment to Safety
The remaining partners of Industry Entertainment issued a statement to Variety, asserting, “Industry Entertainment is committed to providing a safe and respectful working environment. We take very seriously the recent allegations of inappropriate conduct on the set of the film ‘Runner’ related to Dan Spilo, and are conducting a thorough investigation.” They clarified that Spilo agreed to step away from the company immediately.
The statement emphasized the company’s zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and misconduct, stating, “Our commitment to a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment applies to everyone, without exception.”
Impact on Professional Relationships
Following the allegations, notable figures including Reacher star Alan Ritchson and actor Kal Penn have opted to part ways with Spilo as their manager.
Production Background
Spilo was involved as a producer in Runner, a film featuring Ritchson and cast alongside Owen Wilson, directed by Scott Waugh. The screenplay is penned by Tommy White and Miles Hubley, emerging from the 2023 Black List.
The film’s production team includes Todd Garner from Broken Road Productions, Mark Fasano from Nickel City Pictures, and Jeffrey Greenstein from A Higher Standard, with executive producers Lauren Gennawey and Matthew Goldberg overseeing the project.
Previous Controversies

Professional History
Prior to these incidents, Spilo had produced several films, including Uglies, Seberg, and Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj.
