Ted Lasso Season 4: New Actor Sought for the Role of Henry

Apple TV+ has confirmed that the beloved series “Ted Lasso” will return for a fourth season. As part of this new chapter, the show is looking to recast the role of Henry, the young son of the titular character, played by Jason Sudeikis.

Character Background

Previously, Henry was portrayed by Gus Turner over the first three seasons. Throughout these seasons, viewers saw Henry primarily through video calls with his father, who was busy coaching soccer across the globe. Based in Kansas with his mother, Michelle (played by Andrea Anders), Henry made several notable trips to London, including visits with his parents during and after their separation. His character also had a poignant moment welcoming Ted back home at the end of Season 3.

Current Cast and Production Team

As of now, Jason Sudeikis is the only confirmed cast member returning for Season 4. While options for other main cast members, including Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift, have been picked up, their participation remains unverified.

New Executive Producer Join the Team

Jack Burditt, known for his work on “Modern Family” and “30 Rock,” has joined the producing team for Season 4 under an overall deal with Apple TV+. Sudeikis will also assume the role of executive producer alongside Brendan Hunt, who portrayed Coach Beard, and fellow producers Toheeb Jimoh, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel. Goldstein is set to contribute as both writer and executive producer, alongside Leanne Bowen.

Production Details

Bill Lawrence continues to be an executive producer through his Doozer Productions, collaborating with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. The writing and production team for the upcoming season includes Sara Walker, Phoebe Walsh, and co-producer Sasha Garron, with Julia Lindon serving as a writer and Dylan Marron as story editor. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, which collaborates with Universal Television, where Doozer maintains an overall deal.

The news of the recasting was first reported by Deadline, highlighting the show’s casting activities as it prepares for the new season.
