Dr. Haywood, a licensed minister and former long-time elementary and middle school teacher, has a diverse background and a deep commitment to personal and professional growth. His journey to earning a Doctorate in Education in 2015, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a perfect 4.0 GPA, followed a remarkable recovery from cancer. “Retirement from a job or career and a subsequent diagnosis of malignant cancer does not have to be the end of things. My severe illness and my accompanying trials and tribulations taught me to hold on to my faith in God,” Dr. Haywood said. “By the grace of God, I began to be thrust into one ongoing God-given new beginning after another!”
Following his recovery, Dr. Haywood ran a successful reading and language clinic out of his home in San Jose, California, for five years, before relocating to Peoria, Arizona, in 2022. Along with Take Up Your Bed And Walk, Dr. Haywood is also the author of four other books that touch on various aspects of education and spiritual growth. His other works cover the challenges and triumphs of walking in a God-given prophetic ministry, cultivating early reading development in children, and building positive attitudes toward mathematics.
