Using a revised formula, teams are evaluated across several key categories, accumulating a maximum score of 40 points. Each team’s excitement factor is assessed based on the following criteria:
- Star Power (10 points): Based on the players included in the MLB Rank Top 100.
- Young Talent (10 points): Focused on players in their first or second MLB seasons along with potential call-ups.
- Baserunning (5 points): Evaluates the overall speed of the team, including stolen bases.
- Defense (5 points): Considers both team defense and standout fielders capable of making highlight plays.
- Minutiae (5 points): Encompasses fun elements like ballpark aesthetics, team uniforms, and quirky characters.
- Bonus Points (5 points): Awarded for any other factors deemed worthy of recognition.
American League Insights
